STAIRS ARE DONE (almost)!

The stairs have been entirely rebuilt and we think they look awesome. Please be cautious using them, especially the upper section, over the next couple of weeks. We do expect the gravel to settle and compact and we have plans to fill in with a smaller gravel size once it has compacted. In the meantime, the wood frame will sit higher than the gravel center, so watch your step. We will also be installing a handrail in at least the steep area of the upper stairs and are looking into options.

These stairs were brought to you by your awesome neighbors who gave time, sweat, but thankfully, no tears. Thank you to everyone who gave so much time and effort, and to every family member who gave up time to let them volunteer. We had fun celebrating the finish with some Kona Ice, and we hope everyone enjoys using the new stairs.

  1. A big thank you to the people who organized this project and coordinated everyones effort! Well planned and executed. And I also appreciated the chance to get to know more of my neighbors.

  2. Congratulations on a job well done on the neighborhood stairs!! This project was a permanent line item on the Board’s agenda for at least two years, and I’m happy for them to see it to completion, with the help of all the volunteers who gave time and sweat!

I’m certain the greater accomplishment is fellowship and community building amongst neighbors! I know, for sure, that my grandchildren (Charlie & Emilio) are elated and proud that they got to help alongside their dad, Aaron, especially as they are regular pedestrians on that! My three children, too, were regular users their growing-up years!

Although I still will not be using it (I’m not outdoorsy at all), I very much appreciate the outcome for everyone!

Thank you very much to WSEHA Board – Joel, Catie, Kimberlee, Mackenzie – for seeing this through!

  3. Yes, thanks to all the hard work in planning, organizing, and carrying out this much-needed project! I could only help for a few short hours myself, but know that a number of others put in several DAYS of work on this project. I use the stairs frequently so am very thankful to have a safe way to get from one level of the neighborhood to the other. Great job–thanks so much!
