The final payment to the Arias landscape company has been completed. Due to problems with addresses on record, the bank had difficulty with the direct payments recently. Therefore, we hand delivered a check to them for final payment today. We appreciate the work they did on the common property in the past, even without a signed contract last year. Because they did not bid on the contract, we went with a different company as stated in the last newsletter. I hope that this information clarifies the facts of this situation to those interested.

Good work Marilynn. Happy you were able to resolve the payment problem on your own.

Just for clarification…the 2017 Board DID NOT put out to bid our landscaping services for two reasons: a) this company has been servicing our neighborhood for years, in fact, in 2016, THE ONLY verification requested of them was proof that all in their employ were legal to work in the U.S., and b) although the cost of their services were discussed, it was determined that they were within the range of competitive pricing, based on what the rest of board members were paying other landscapers.
Additionally, it was the 2017 treasurer, Bill Stinnett who requested for a contract as none was found in the files from prior years with previous boards. Rosa Arias attended one of the board meetings to enlighten us on the scope of services they were providing AS ARRANGED BY previous board.
Therefore, I question “the facts” that are referred to in your post that resulted in the termination of their work.
